Abstract
Anterior cutaneous nerve entrapment syndrome(ACNES) is an important cause of Chronic abdominal wall pain(CAWP) and a nerve entrapped condition in rectus abdominal muscle characterized by a severe localized neuropathic pain at the front of abdomen. Diagnostic confirmation of ACNES was proven by using the infiltration of local anesthetics on the anterior sheath of the rectus abdominal muscle. And the local anesthetic infiltration is one of the most common intervention treatment of ACNES. A 81 years old female patient presented with right upper abdominal pain and had no gastrointestinal and hepatobiliary disease. We treated ACNES by subcutaneous injection with the use of 5% dextrose instead of local anesthetics. We will report subcutaneous injection of 5% dextrose as an available alternative treatment of ACNES.
